Standing up to powerful interests
Tell your governor to champion our right to repair
We should be able to fix the things we own.
Call on your governor to champion our right to repair.
Subject: Champion our right to repair
Your Letter:
When you buy a computer, refrigerator, cell phone or just about any other product, you own it and therefore you'd expect that you should be able to fix it when it breaks. But manufacturers are intentionally making it difficult to repair the things we own by not sharing the parts and service information we need to fix them. Instead, they make it easier to throw out your old product and buy an expensive replacement. We imagine a different kind of system -- where instead of throwing things out, we reuse, salvage and rebuild. And our state can help us get there by passing right to repair legislation to ensure that we can repair the things we own. I urge you to champion right to repair legislation in our state.
