Tell Your Senators: Pass The FREE Act

Freezing your credit reports is the best action you can take to stop new account identity theft after a breach as catastrophic as the one at Equifax, which resulted in the loss of more than 145 million Americans' most sensitive financial data.

U.S. PIRG Education Fund estimates that it would cost consumers an estimated $4.1 billion to freeze their credit reports at all three agencies in states where fees are charged.

We didn't give the credit bureaus permission to collect our information, sell it or, in the case of Equifax, lose it -- and we shouldn't have to pay to control access to our credit reports.

Tell your Senators today to pass the FREE Act, and make credit freezes free for all Americans.
