Tell the Department of Health and Human Services: Do not weaken critical consumer protections

We the undersigned urge the Department of Health and Human Services to reject proposed changes that would weaken health insurance rate review and the Medical Loss Ratio rule.

Consumers need more scrutiny of large health insurance rate hikes, not less. The Medical Loss Ratio rule has put billions of dollars back in consumers' pockets and encouraged health insurers to cut waste and use premium dollars more efficiently.

Weakening rate review and the Medical Loss Ratio would make it easier for health insurance companies to raise rates and reduce the value of health coverage for consumers. We urge you to reverse course, and to preserve and strengthen these critical consumer protections.
